Paris Preview

Having so much fun sorting through 500 someodd photos from our
trip to Paris.

It all came about because my niece is traveling to Tanzania for
2 months to participate in a Humanitarian Effort at the base
of Mount Kilamanjaro.

Her mother, my sister wanted to be able to accompany her
half way around the world, so Paris, France seemed a convenient
stopover and exciting place to spend a week. She submitted a
request for a timeshare condo and when she received the news
it was available - we decided to make it happen!

We've always planned lots of special "girl cousin" activities over
the years ranging from movie nights out to long summer days
at the swimming pool. All their lives they have been blessed to
live in close proximity to each other and enjoy so many special times
together.

Now that they are all growing up, moving away to college, getting
married etc, they don't have as much time for each other as they
used to. So we thought it was a great opportunity to get everyone
together, and were so excited that each one of our daughters was
able to arrange busy work and school schedule to come along!

I thought I'd just post a couple of my favorite Paris sights for now
until I have a chance to finish sorting through the many photos
I arrived home with.

Lost in Space

Hello all,

Just a word to say that I really am alive and well.

Many good but busy things in life right now.

Just returned from a grand adventure and vacation. And prior
to that I had to work for six nights in a row (which I NEVER do!)

So it's taken me quite some time to get up and going.

I just returned
from a once in a lifetime adventure with my two daughters and
my sister and her three daughters after spending

12 days in Paris.

I'm getting photos ready to post soon.

Stay tuned . . .

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo just sounds like a festive day!

Say it . . . Cinco de Mayo!

Let it kind of roll off your tongue with a "south of the border" flair . . .

It brings to mind large sombrero's, mariachi bands, colorful ponchos

and

Cafe Rio

Of course, Cafe Rio is a relatively new association. They've only been around since 1997.

BUT . . . I knew soon as I got up and looked at the calendar that today would have to be a Cafe Rio day. If you don't live nearby one of these restaurant establishments - I'm sorry . . . you really are missing out.

Missing out on the grilled chicken or the cafe rio pork, the creamy cilantro dressing, a sliver of lime, served up in a homemade, hot off the grill flour tortilla. And the best part - is the daily fiesta the workers seem to be having at each visit. They can make serving up salads and burritos seem like a tremendous party.

Must be contagious because they are now one of the top rated restaurants in the country.

But GOOD NEWS!

You can attempt to duplicate their salads at home. I found this recipe which our family makes regularly and it really is pretty close.

Course you miss out on the fiesta, unless of course you have a little latino blood of your own, a large sombrero and a mariachi band hidden down in the basement :)

Enjoy!

Ay yi yi yi . . . canta y no llores
go ahead sing along, you know you want to :)
