We're Practicing . . .

Practicing what you might ask . . .

We're practicing being empty nesters. I'm not sure we're very good at it just yet.

Kelsie left Sunday for Heritage Tours. A three week LDS church history and American History tour with a group of friends. I hope she's having a good time. I wonder if she even misses us . . .

(Kelsie leaving on the bus tour for three weeks)

Karianne left today to spend 13 days in Ohio looking for an apartment and a job. She is just happy to be reunited with her honey after being apart for a week. I hope she's having a good time. I wonder if she even misses us . . .

(having breakfast on the way to the airport)

Hmmmm . . . I think I'll call Cory and see if he wants to come home for the weekend and be an "only child".

I can't imagine what it would be like. I miss my kids like crazy even when I'm gone for a few hours...but I go crazy when I go too long with out any me time. Balance where are you?

Enjoy it. I had a child like 10 years after what I thought was our last one. Love her to pieces. But when the boys were out of the house for a bit. It took some time and we enjoyed the less of it all and enjoyed visits. But now everyone is back again, the house is full of things and I miss the more quiet a little. But it is what it is right now.

Take care and enjoy the nest.

I've had nieces and nephews go on those Heritage Tours and always wished I could have been a chaperone. The kids always came back with such amazing, phenomenal stories. The learning experiences they had and bonds of friendship they formed were truly desirable.

I'm sure you are very missed. It just might take a few more days for the kids to realize what you already feel.

That must be hard. But practice makes perfect, right?

I don't know if my nest will ever be empty... I will have to keep finding ways to fill it.

So when is your wedding? Soon?

Hah - she did call me asking that exact thing. And guess what? I'm home this weekend, and mom and dad are up in Salt Lake. Jeeze...
