Feeling THIS today . . .

I'm feeling this today . . .

As I read about the current environment in Honduras . . .

Who more needs the Gospel of Jesus Christ
and the peace that it brings?

What better service can we do
than to bring peace into the
lives of the people through
our Savior?

Hi there,

I served a mission to San Pedro Sula from 1996-1998. Not sure how they are dividing up the missions between East and West, but I suspect that most of my areas are located within your mission's boundaries. Unbelievable experience that has made me who I am today. Yes there is extreme poverty, and yes there is violence as a result of the gangs and drug trade, but in the midst of all of that there are many of the most incredible people you are likely to meet, with testimonies of the gospel that will uplift and inspire you. People, who after joining the church were willing to sacrifice greatly to make a multiple week long journey to Arizona when it was the nearest temple. Since then temples have gradually gotten closer from Mexico, to Guatemala, to El Salvador and as of March to Honduras. My wife and I had long planned to return to Honduras when a temple was built and we recently Monday from a 10 day trip to the areas where you will be serving. A highlight of the trip for me was being able to do a session with a man I baptized 16 years ago this month. He left on a mission to Nicaragua himself 16 months after joining the Church and is now sealed with a baby girl. Spending time with him in the temple was priceless. I know you and your husband will have a great experience and touch many lives for good. I am envious of the opportunity you have in front of you. Good luck!
