Blessings of Visiting Teachers, Friends and Neighbors

Yes! Thank goodness we're into a new month. I'm really looking forward to March but I think February was just out to get me. We've had the worst cold and flu bugs going through our area this year. Colds, flu, sinus infection, bronchitis - well I got it all in February.

If you get this bug - don't underestimate it like I did . . .

I felt lousy for two weeks, didn't take care of myself; I think I was in denial since I never get sick really. Didn't rest, didn't drink the fluids like I tell every other sick person in the world that I come in contact with professionally. Finally ended up with the flu, a whopping sinus infection and bronchitis, and lost my voice completely (just in time for the Rascal Flatts concert, which I would have gone to on my deathbed . . .) All in all, I think I took enough medications to kill any otherwise healthy creature.

But . . . thank goodness for my wonderful visiting teachers who were so diligent to keep checking in with me. Also my friends and neighbors . . . I have appreciated their concerns so much. One afternoon a good friend dropped by some chicken noodle soup for dinner. It tasted so good. I think there really is something magical about that combination of ingredients. Another brought over cookies. My husband has taken really really good care of me, but there's nothing like a visit from a friend!

Yesterday a visiting teacher and a neighbor brought over this -

and this -

And I love them and think they are so wonderful! Thank you! Thank you so very much! I think I'm beginning to feel better all ready. I think March is going to be a VERY good month!

PS - To make the yummy rolls above -

You start with Frozen Rhoades Roll Dough, while frozen roll the rolls in butter and an herbal mixture of your choice (she used parsley flakes, garlic salt, and freshly grated parmesan cheese). Then allow to rise and bake as directed. They are soooo good! You'll have to try it!

Shaelynn told me the homemade noodles were a little chewy. I know you posted this blog and picture of the soup for my benefit. Thanks

I love chewy homemade noodles. I think those are the best kind! I agree, good friends and visiting teachers are the best! I am sorry you have been sick though.

Hi Kristine!,
LOVE the food pictures. Made me want to go and make soup. Plus I also like chewy noodles...they are they best. Btw why don't you dig out those awkward gawky pictures. We could start a new group site for them....in fact I am going to do that RIGHT NOW! Start digging them out and check back on my site.
