Chocolate and Fire Hydrants

Sometimes life can be like a box of chocolates . . .

That would NOT be this week.

Instead, it's more like trying to get a drink out of one of these . . .

I'm not complainin' by the way, just stating a fact. Too much of the BEST things can still be overwhelming.

So I had a little moment where I let things get out of control. Okay, so it was a big moment. Okay, so I ranted and raved and let my family see my truly insane side for more moments than I really care to admit.

I'm so grateful for children and a husband who listen so patiently to a momentarily insane mom. So grateful for children and family and a husband who don't get truly insane in return, but instead just listen to me vent for way toooo long.

Thanks guys - a little chocolate and a good magazine (and a little sleep) and I feel much better.

I have those too. We all do. A magazine is really such therapy. Topped with good chocolate, then it's really healing.

I hope it goes better. Rant is good for us sometimes. I might have to get my rant on too :)

Cute way to describe a bad day. I would love a box of chocolates right about now.

I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment, too. So I left my kids home and left for the carwash... we are going to be traveling for a couple of days, and my car has seriously not been washed in about two or three MONTHS. So I just had one stop to make to return some shoes... uh oh... I did a little shopping therapy. I bought some (and when I say some, that could mean 1, 2, or 3 pairs, right?) new sexy grandma high heeled sandals... yikes! I took so long that I came home without washing the car. But I am feeling pretty good right now:)

My choice of escape this week included plenty of Sonic Ice and a new book by one of my favorite authors (I even splurged on hardback)....oh a little ice cream here and there. lol Isn't it great that we have the simple things AND great families?

Shanghai Girls by Lisa See (She also wrote Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and Peony in Love) and Rocky Road (hated it as a kid but LOVE it this year for some silly reason...oh yea it's probably the chocolate, almonds and marshmallows!!

I am sorry you had a ranting moment, but I think those are like crying moments. Sometimes things build up, we find a release and then life gets back in balance. But thank goodness for family members that understand . . . and that there is chocolate.:-)
